Steven Djohan on CSI-010 Digital Forensics

In 2023, the fifth edition of CSI-010, the free course in Digital Forensics for young people organized by Cyberworkplace, Techniek College Rotterdam and Revnext, kicked off. Steven Djohan, partner at Revnext, has been involved in the process as the initiator of CSI-010 since the first edition.

WHAT IS CSI-010?

CSI-010: Digital Forensics is a course for young people interested in tracking down hackers and collecting evidence to prove the hacks.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE LOOK LIKE?

On 8 Friday afternoons, students are introduced to the world of digital forensics and they conduct research into computers and networks. Physical equipment is partly used, but virtual machines are also used.

WHY DO WE OFFER THIS?

According to Steven Djohan, CSI-010 fits well with Revnext’s mission to help organizations improve their digital security. “It is important and responsible work that is in high demand. We see that many organizations are looking for talent in digital forensics. At the same time, the desired skills are not or hardly offered in schools. This is a social task to which we are happy to contribute voluntarily”. According to Djohan, it is very nice to see that CSI-010 is so appreciated by students (an average of 9 over the past editions). The program is free, but not without obligation. Students invest time and effort in the curriculum, as do the teachers. That is quite special and also means that we continue to do our best to create something special”.
